Help meebee out = get a free t-shirt!

As a startup, we come across a lot of decisions. Some are little, some are big (a list of open positions at meebee). But the "devil's in the details" as the saying goes, and we got stumped on this one. What should we name our "make a meeting" button? It appears throughout meebee.com, and on the very blog you're reading. It needs to be action inducing, catchy and clear. So, help us out and give us your input. One lucky "pollster" will win a free meebee t-shirt!

Pain in the A Q&A: At SXSW with SoundCloud's Alex Ljung

meebee's CEO JD caught up with SoundCloud's CEO Alex at Austin's SXSW festival. They rap about Alex arriving at the massive festival of SXSW, and the great growth that SoundCloud.com is receiving - from guitar players at home to The Smashing Pumpkin's Billy Corgan. The also tackle the fact that Alex was having trouble meeting up with a friend due to a "messy mix" of SMS, phone tag and email. Alex is now going to check out meebee.com because of it! Enjoy the short video clip...

Pain in the A Q&A: At SXSW with Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh

meebee CEO JD caught up with Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh at the South By Southwest festival (SXSW). They rap aboout the best of the buzzing festival so far, such as the Delivering Happiness Book Bus that is party-hoping around Austin and spreading the good word of Hsieh's new book, "Delivering Happiness." Hsieh breaksdown all that he learned in business, "from the lemonaide stand to LinkExchange to Zappos," plus how the science of happiness can be applied to business.
They also hash over the annoying back and forth of texting and email, and how meebee.com can help alleviate that wasted time and energy.

meebee shout out to MyLocationScouts

We want to give credit to MyLocationScouts, who helped us out at SXSW. They're the first nationwide rental database for independent filmmakers. Through them, you can create a profile for your location (personal property and equipment to earn 100% profit. No commission and no transaction fee), browse a nationwide database of willing property renters and communicate directly and use sample contracts, find talent, barter/trade, hire a location scout and research each state's film incentive programs. MyLocationScouts is a one stop shop for finding shooting locations, props and equipment - no matter what the budget.

Parties Galore: SXSW and St. Patrick's Day!

meebee is all about having a good time. Our sole purpose is to save people time and energy so they can do more things that they want to do. Like partying. Like drinking good beer. Like going to massive festivals (for more of our CEO's adventures at SXSW, click here). One of the most celebrated holidays, St. Patrick's Day, is just around the corner. So if you can't be at Austin's SXSW, then get to one of these three fun zones to have a pint of Guinness and sing "Danny Boy" 28 times.

Dublin, Ireland - Can't leave out the biggest St. Patty's Day heavy hitter. A gigantic festival takes over the streets, almost Carnival-like. Also, check out the Dublin Hop On, Hop Off tour.

Boston, MA - It claims to be the most Irish city in the US. True or not, it's a fine place to be on the green holiday. Check out the Go Boston Card that gives you discounted access to over 70 attractions.

Anywhere, World - Just about any decent city has an Irish pub. Or two. Or 14. So find yours, throw on some green and saddle up with a finely poured Guinness. That guy or girl next to you is ready for a jolly good time!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from meebee!

meebee to rock SXSW

It's official, meebee will be buzzing around the highly anticipated 2010 SXSW event in Austin, Texas. With an estimated 60,000 attendees from all over the globe, the event should prove to be a wild ride filled with film stars, rock stars and computer stars alike. It's going to be our first year in attendance so we have a lot of things on our to-do list. Here's just a few:
Help others network to the max
So you've arranged your SXSW schedule down to a tee and refuse to miss a single event, good for you! But don't forget - it's much cooler if you roll to each event with a group rather than flying solo. Instead of creeping around by yourself, meetup with your friends using meebeee. Attending different events with a group will make it much easier to meet and network with other attendees.

Get interrupted by Kanye
We're not sure if he'll be in attendance again like last year, but if we are giving a speech, presentation maybe even a performance he is the man to ruin it. It's been too long since the Grammy's it's about time for a comeback!

Tame the killer bee
We like to think that we know a thing or two about bee's and because the largest bee is located in Texas we will have to meetup.

Get everyone buzzed
The meebee crew will be doing everything possible to make this the best SXSW to date! At meebee.com, we work hard and play harder so keep any eye out for our meebee gang and you will be guaranteed an unforgettable time!

Hook up VIP'S
For select VIPS the meebee crew will be giving away a variety of awesome prizes, VIP cards to help save you time and money and a select few will have a chance to receive the Amazon hit "Your Time, Your Life!"

Let us know what you like to do at SXSW and what you think we should add to our list. See you there!
