Valentine's Day: 5 Spots for a Romantic Getaway

Whether you think Valentine's Day is a commerical holiday arranged by Hallmark, or you're a hopeless romantic that looks forward to February 14th every year - you end up doing at least something. So why not get a cool life experience and head out for a romantic getaway. Here is meebee's 5 spots for a romantic getaway:

1) Paris: Obvious, right? But it's the "City of Lights" with wine, food, history, art and, well, love.  Paris is the world's most visited city and there's a reason why: it has something for everyone.  But romantics can kiss in the shadow of Notre Dame or sneak one in after seeing the Mona Lisa. Truly a hot spot for Valentine's Day.

2) Prague: A magical, enchanting city that feels like you're in a fantasy land.  During winter, the light snow adds to the romantic appeal of the small European City.  Walking the winding, cobblestone streets of Prague, snuggling close to your loved one as large castle looms over you, proves romantic on our list.

3) Seychelles: How could one of the most beautiful locations in the world be left out? The white sand, swooping palm trees and crystal clear tropical waters bring the romance out in all of us. Although it takes a bit to get to these small African islands, it's well worth it once you arrive.

4) Buenos Aires: The capital of Argentina offers a superb mix of South America and Europe, while keeping the prices low. The city, meaning "Fair Winds" or "Good Air," is a relaxed yet exciting metropolitan city where you can eat the world's best meat and drink the world's best Malbec.  And for the outdoor adventurous types on Valentine's Day, Patagonia is only a three hour flight away.

5) Venice: No, not the gritty beach in Los Angeles, but the real Venice.  With twisting canals and narrow alleys, the "City of Water" is beautiful anytime of the year.  Besides, cruising along in a gondola with your loved one is about as picture perfect as it gets. Take that Hallmark.
